Description:

Abstract: 113 arcs represent major rivers in Idaho with river name as an attribute.
Purpose:
This SDE layer was developed for use in ArcIMS Image Map Services. A minimum number of attributes were retained to enhance preformance of the Internet application. This layer provides a reference and cartographic layer that makes it easy to identify areas on other feature layers. It is has been dissolved as much as possible and is not up-to-date.
Supplemental Information: Source data are from ESRI Data & Maps 3 (CD) that is provided with ArcView.

Opened data set in ArcView 3.2

Projected to IDTM using ArcView 3.2 Projection Utiltiy

Deleted all records that did not have a name

Dissolved on name to create a new shapefile. Did this using Geoprocessing Wizard.

Deleted fields that were not needed.

Exported the data to an SDE database using the Export > Shapefile to Geodatabase option in ArcCatalog 8.1. All defaults were used.
